Metal Foil

Metal Foil Relief is a built up, collaged, substrate that is covered in a burnished foil and thenpatined and buffed. It begins with a substrate of matte board or masonite that is textured with glue and thin paper. A border is applied with matte board. Various materials such as, tape, wire, thread, decals, cuts and, different types of papers are used to create the design. When the relief dries foil is burnished onto the surface of the design so that it revels all the nuance that has been created. The foil is then darkend with a permanent patinawhich is then removed and buffed to reveal a darkened andshiny surface.
